Want A Sure Fire Way To Get To The Top Of Google
TODAY?
Search engines such as Google, Yahoo and Bing allow businesses of any size to place ads online. The largest search engine of them all, Google, calls this Adwords or Pay Per Click (PPC) advertising and what we can offer you is expert Google Adwords Management.
The basic premise of advertising on Google is that your ad is shown when someone does a search for a keyword that you have included in your campaign. However, it is only when someone clicks on your ad that you will be charged.
Google Adwords Management: Update 2018
My how things have changed over the years! Do you remember when Google showed 3 ads above the organic results and up to 8 ads down the right hand side of their results pages? (see diagram below)
Since February 2016 Google has been showing up to 4 PPC advertisements above the free organic search. In addition, ads are also appearing underneath the organic results.
The Old Google Adwords Format
Below is a screenshot of what Google search looked like back in 2014. For competitive keywords Google showed up to 3 ads at the top of the Search Engine Results Pages (SERPs) and up to 8 on the right hand side.
Google Adwords Management In 2018
One of the great things about Adwords in 2018 is that very quick results can still be obtained.
But you need to know what you are doing!
Now with only 4 adverts showing at the top of the SERPs, it's important I believe to have your ads showing in positions 1 to 3
If you’ve been in business for a while you’ll know that advertising can be hit and miss at the best of times. Therefore something that works quickly can be very attractive.
Adwords can be highly targeted to your potential customers. You get to choose what keywords you want to use and where and when your ads will be shown.
Whilst it is still relatively easy to set up an Adwords account, setting up your campaigns to achieve optimal results if far from a simple matter.
In fact Google wants accounts to be set up in a certain way and rewards advertisers who do it the “Google way” with higher ad positions and lower click costs.
We’ve been managing pay per click accounts for over 8 years now and these ads have had a huge impact for our clients.
I originally wrote this article in the last week before Christmas 2014. I still remember phone calls I got from 3 of my Adwords management clients who rang me to thank me for all the new customers that had been sent to them during the course of that year.
It's now 2018 and some of those same clients still ring me from time to time to tell me how their businesses have grown thanks largely to our Adwords Management strategies.
Our most successful clients have always been those who do BOTH Google Pay Per Click AND Search Engine Optimisation
In fact, it seems that having their Adwords ads and their organic listings (Google Maps* and traditional organic) both being on the first page supercharges their results.
*If you want to know how to rank in Google Maps click here.
As I always say, having multiple listings on page 1 means you get leads from different types of searchers; i.e. those who just click on ads, those who only ever click on organic results and those who don't know what they're clicking on (but you know they're having fun right!)
It’s A Bit Like 1 + 1 = 11
That’s How Powerful It Can Be
Adwords can have your website on the first page of Google from day 1. No waiting for your SEO campaign to kick in. Realistically, since Panda and Penguin, it takes longer to rank a website than ever before. With SEO, the slow and steady approach works best and you have to be patient. However, it is worth it as a lot of people refuse to click on the paid ads.
